I delete messages I sent to staff the week before that I don't need to save (appointment acceptances, news stories I circulated, etc.) I also delete e-mails I sent to customers that are more than a month old. I ordinarily save these to our customer database when I send them, so a backup exists if I need it. In this way, I keep the sent mail beast somewhat tamed.
